The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager sells financing and insurance products to new and used car buyers. They also work with financial lenders to secure fair interest rates and programs. All dealership employees, including F&I managers, are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.
It is recommended that the finance and insurance manager has at least two years of automotive sales experience and one year in a dealership management position. Managers must maintain profitability, control expenses, and ensure customer satisfaction. They should stay informed about relevant federal, state, and local regulations. F&I personnel need strong communication skills to work effectively with customers, employees, and vendors.
A college degree or equivalent experience in finance is preferred. A background in business, mathematics, marketing, and computers is also beneficial.
