Job summary

ZealoTech People seeks a senior accounting professional in Los Angeles to own the month-end close, GAAP reporting, and SaaS revenue recognition for a growing subscriptions business.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, NetSuite expertise, and a proven ability to implement scalable processes in a lean environment. This full-time role offers hands-on ownership and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong hands-on accounting foundation with experience owning the month-end close process.
• Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business is required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting requirements.
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition, including recurring revenue, deferred revenue, and related subscription accounting workflows.
• NetSuite experience required. Comfortable using NetSuite for close, reporting, reconciliations, and workflows.
• Hands-on full-cycle accounting experience: GL, AP, AR, cash management, accruals, reconciliations, billing, and collections.
• Experience preparing monthly financial statements, variance analysis, budgeting support, forecasting support, and cash planning.
• Ability to improve and document accounting processes as the company scales.
• Lean accounting environment with one other accountant.
• Software: NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, SaaS accounting systems and workflows, integrated billing platforms
• Nice to have: CPA preferred, hands-on accounting leadership experience, experience with billing or integrated SaaS platforms, fundraising/expansion experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and related close activities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning processes.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate revenue recognition for SaaS/subscription models.
• Maintain and document scalable accounting processes and workflows.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams in a lean environment.
