Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Finance Manager to own the financials for a specific building and its products. This hands-on, in-the-weeds project accounting role will partner with facilities operations and the client to open and process purchase orders, code expenses accurately, and keep billing audit-ready.

You will manage a Finance Coordinator, maintain Excel-based trackers, and support month-end close. A Bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of accounting/finance experience are required; strong Excel skills

  • Property accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas/coding and calculations.
  • Hands-on journal entry and month-end close experience.
  • Ability to open, process, and track a high volume of purchase orders and projects with operators.
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day finance point of contact for the account, working directly with facilities teams and the client.
  • Review and code expense reports, verifying line-item accuracy against project/product codes.
  • Reconcile billing to align with contracted scope and client expectations.
  • Open, process, and track purchase orders across a large volume of projects with input from multiple operators.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel-based financial trackers, reports, and analyses.
  • Support month-end close processes, including journal entries.
  • Manage and develop one Finance Coordinator.
  • Maintain vigilant awareness of the financial status of a specific building and its products.
  • Occasional exposure to corporate financials; primary focus on client-facing account financials.

About The Role

This is a hands-on, in-the-weeds project accounting role – you'll be the person who knows exactly what's happening financially in a specific building and its associated products, not a high-level portfolio strategist. You'll partner closely with facilities operations and the client to open and process purchase orders, keep expense coding and billing accurate and audit-ready, and manage a Finance Coordinator.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5–8 years of accounting or finance experience, ideally project accounting (property accounting experience is a plus) – this is not a tax accounting role
  • Prior experience at a major commercial real estate services firm is a strong plus
  • Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas/coding and calculations
  • Hands-on journal entry and month-end close experience
  • Proven ability to open, process, and track a high volume of purchase orders and projects, working cross-functionally with operators
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented, inquisitive mindset

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Finance Manager position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Finance Manager position is $150,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
