Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare and support the reconciliation process for asset and liability accounts.
  • Period Close and Financial Reporting: Support period and annual close and ensure accurate balance sheet and income statements for all functions.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide analysis tools to gain insights into operational performance and identify improvements.
  • Operational Support: Assist operations with timely financial information and inquiries.

Job description

In 1989, Wikoff’s first continual improvement department was established, adopting a Total Quality Management approach. Over the years, the department has matured and expanded its vision to include not only oversight of the quality management system, but also training programs and employee safety while adopting other improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Finance Manger to join our team. This role will be instrumental in the areas of account reconciliation, financial reporting, financial analysis, process improvement, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate has an attention to detail and organizational skills with high data accuracy, works well independently and in a team, has leadership strengths, and is supported by strong computer proficiency, such as Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook, and ERP software applications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare and support the account reconciliation process and results of all asset and liability accounts. Ensure correcting entries needed are recorded and the account balances are presented clearly and accurately.
  • Period Close and Financial Reporting: Contribute and support the activities and timelines associated with period and annual financial close, including ensuring all asset and liability accounts are accurately reported on the balance sheet and the income statement properly and accurately reflects the results of the Commerial, Operations, and Support functions of the company.
  • Financial Analysis: In combination with financial reporting, provide and support various analysis tools that provide further incites into operational performance, and provide opportunity for improvements of financial results.
  • Operational Support: Provide support to operations by reacting and responding timely and accurately to inquiries and requests that relate to financial information.
  • Tax Assistance: Contribute and support in the preparation, filing, and payment of various taxes such as property tax, sales and use tax, VAT tax, and GST/QST tax.
  • Inventory Reconciliation and Valuation: Contribute to the reconciliation process relating to physical inventories conducted in the manufacturing facilities. Ensure programs associated with fair value assessment of on hand inventory reports the results desired.
  • Budgeting and Budget Variance: Along with other accounting and operational leaders, be a key contributor to the annual budget process. Additionally, budget variance analysis tools can be developed that assist to understand budget variances and possible changes needed.
  • Insurance: Provide leadership and support in administering general insurance programs for the company.
  • Other Projects and Reports: As a vital member of the accounting department, additional reports and tasks may be assigned as needed by the CFO or Corporate Controller.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of current experience in related responsibilities
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
  • CPA certification is a plus.
