Job summary

Riggins Company in Hampton, VA is hiring its first Vice President of Finance to own the finance function and partner with the CEO and ELT. You will drive processes, systems, and a growing finance team on-site in Hampton, near the shipyard.

You will report to the CEO and Board, support major acquisitions, and ensure robust FP&A, audit readiness, and clear dashboards for leadership. This role matters to national defense programs and corporate growth.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ownership of percentage-of-completion accounting for fixed-price contracts.
• Experience closing the books and performing cleanup work.
• Experience reporting to sponsor, Board, and lenders.

Responsibilities

• Own the estimate-at-completion process end to end.
• Establish ASC 606 revenue recognition for construction-type contracts.
• Report bid-to-actual margin by job and work center; root-cause variance analysis.
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to lenders and the Board.
• Lead the Company through its first external audit; build month-end close standards.
• Drive contract-level and enterprise-level planning and analysis; build KPIs and dashboards.
• Lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets; own post-close integration.
• Own banking relationships, revolver management, and 13-week cash forecast.
• Manage working capital focusing on billing cadence and receivables.
• Select and implement a job-cost ERP; build a capable finance team.
