Job summary

Unconventional AI in Mountain View is seeking a hands-on Generalist to own the entire accounting and FP&A stack. You’ll close books, run audits, manage tax calendar, and build budgeting and forecasting processes, often in the same week.

You’ll partner with the CFO and CEO, scale the team, and tackle ad-hoc requests as the company grows, with a lean, high-trust culture and opportunities for substantial ownership.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of accounting/FP&A experience across startup or tech
• Startup or tech company experience required; built processes from scratch
• Strong command of US GAAP, close mechanics, reconciliations, internal controls
• Hands-on with an ERP (NetSuite, QuickBooks) and spend management, payroll, equity
• Advanced Excel/Sheets and strong financial modeling ability
• A self-starter who operates with minimal direction and meets deadlines
• Clear written communication with executives and investors
• High integrity and discretion with sensitive information

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Manage external audits, liaise with tax advisors, and ensure timely tax filings
• Own FP&A, budgeting, reforecasting, and board/investor reporting
• Build and mentor the accounting and finance team as the company scales
• Collaborate with CFO and CEO; tackle ad-hoc operational requests
