UpDoc, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Finance Lead to build the company''s financial infrastructure in healthcare AI. You''ll own planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while overseeing accounting and grant management.

This is a remote role with preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area. You''ll work across strategic finance, compliance, and operations, partnering with leadership to drive resource allocation and scalable processes as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience across strategic finance, FP&A, accounting, healthcare finance, or related roles in startup/high-growth.
• Experience owning financial models, budgets, forecasts, and scenario planning.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals, with depth to oversee close and external accounting partners.
• Grant budgeting and financial management including budgeting, tracking, reporting, and audit-ready docs.
• Healthcare revenue cycle management knowledge including coding, billing, claims, reimbursement, and collections.
• Translate financial data into actionable recommendations for executives and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own financial planning and analysis: budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance reporting.
• Maintain financial model with visibility into revenue, expenses, cash, runway, and headcount.
• Own monthly/quarterly reporting and dashboards for leadership.
• Partner with leadership on resource allocation, hiring plans, and strategic investments.
• Oversee accounting function and external partners to ensure timely close and accurate statements.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, expenses, purchasing, payroll coordination, and cash management.
• Manage grants financials: budgeting, forecasting, tracking, reporting, and compliance.
• Ensure grant compliance documentation and audit readiness.
• Oversee revenue cycle processes: coding, billing, claims, reimbursement, collections, and workflows.
• Develop metrics to monitor revenue cycle performance and improve accuracy/collections.
• Coordinate tax, audit, insurance, and other compliance with external advisors.
• Support board and investor reporting, including KPIs and financial materials.
• Assist fundraising processes with modeling, diligence, and data room prep.
