Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Finance Lead for our Hartford County client, with an on-site schedule five days per week. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, adherence to accounting standards, and effective team management, while contributing to annual budget data and monitoring expenditures.

The successful candidate will lead budgeting support, GL maintenance, month-end closes, reconciliations, and reporting, and participate in audits and policy improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or public administration is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Strong technical skills including EXCEL, MUNIS, Crystal Reports and NovaTime.

Responsibilities

• Works with departments to ensure compliance of budget related programs and policies.
• Supports the director in ensuring the completion of accounting functions and maintenance of the general ledger for all funds, including month-end closes, account and bank reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries review, fixed assets and internal audit.
• Assist with reporting of budget to actual and forecasts. Monitors internal service funds and reviews accuracy of reports.
• Assists with annual audits and improvement of policies and internal controls to ensure fiscal compliance with best practices and mitigation of risk.
• Assists in establishing the priorities of accounting, cash management, payroll, tax revenue, property assessment and revenue collection.
• Assists with the development of annual budget; interfacing with directors and Sr Leadership.
• Coordinates the financial administration of personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements for department employees.
• Serves as a financial resource for all departments

LHH is working on behalf of our fantastic client in Hartford County who has an immediate Finance Lead staffing need. This role is in the office 5 days/week.

Annual compensation DOE - $110K - $125K
