Job summary

The intern will gain hands-on experience in the minerals and royalties business, with mentorship and opportunities to present to executives, while supporting IR materials and market analysis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be willing to work in Midland, TX for the duration of the internship
• Must be returning to school for Fall 2027 semester

Responsibilities

• Work on an assigned, individual Finance and Investor Relations project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation of the completed project to Diamondback's and Viper's executive teams
• Develop and increase knowledge of the minerals and royalties business and the oil and gas industry under the supervision and guidance of an assigned, experienced mentor
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly deliverables for senior executives and the Board of Directors
• Support preparing corporate investor relations materials, including investor presentations and press releases
• Assist with the evaluation and financial modeling of merger and acquisition opportunities
• Gather data from market resources and perform peer benchmarking and maintain knowledge of both debt and equity capital markets
• Participate in on-site field visits to learn about field operations, including an active drilling rig and completions spread
• Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors that support the Midland-Odessa community
