Job summary

Legacy Service Partners is seeking a motivated Finance Intern to gain hands-on experience in core finance and accounting functions within a fast-growing team. You will assist with accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting while developing practical skills and attention to detail in a real-world setting.

This internship is open to students or recent graduates, offering training, mentorship, and exposure to budgeting, variance analyses, and data-driven decision making

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in finance/accounting is a plus but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, basic modeling).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Eager to learn and take on new challenges.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
• Adaptable and able to handle a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice review and data entry.
• Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Help maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases with accuracy.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, budget summaries, and variance analyses for review.
• Support the finance team with data collection, organization, and analysis to inform business decisions.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback.
• Assist with expense reporting and reconciliation across departments.
• Help research discrepancies and resolve billing or accounting issues, escalating as needed.
• Support special projects such as process improvement initiatives or system implementations.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the department.
