Job summary

Horizon Air’s internship program in SeaTac offers a hands-on, 12-week summer experience for students to contribute to key finance projects that support our business and guest experience.

As interns, you will forecast, analyze costs, and present recommendations to leadership while gaining exposure to budgeting and monthly close processes; relocation to SeaTac is required for non-local students.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor's degree with a focus in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• Familiarity with accounting/finance fundamentals and math skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and databases, including Excel functions and pivot tables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Currently enrolled with at least one semester remaining after internship.
• Must be junior or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age 18 and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provides input into forecasting, cost control, budget preparation and variance research.
• Shadow the operation and analyze financial data to make recommendations and inform solutions.
• Work closely with senior leadership to manage finances and understand spend.
• Contributes to monthly close processes, accruals, PO system management and data entry.
• Design and/or create a dashboard using operational data and assist with ad hoc projects.
