Job summary

Basis seeks a finance leader to own end-to-end analytics and model-building for revenue, headcount, and unit economics. You’ll drive decisions with data, collaborating across finance, revenue operations, GTM, product, and engineering.

You’ll rebuild finance around AI, run experiments with LLMs, and provide leadership briefs on runway, capacity, and investments. Join a data-driven team in NYC.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture, or similar analytically rigorous environments.
• Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills.
• A builder mindset: create systems from scratch and automate work.
• A track record of using AI and modern tools to increase leverage.
• Strong business judgment and clear communication for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the models the company runs on: revenue, headcount, unit economics, cash.
• Take analysis to action: pricing changes, new investments, and ensure decisions are implemented.
• Chase down anomalies to uncover root causes in data, contracts, or communications.
• Rebuild finance around AI: run experiments with LLMs for reconciliation, variance commentary, and board decks.
• Be the finance partner for the whole company: brief leadership and support GTM, product, and engineering.
