The Finance Director/Treasurer is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that reports to the Township Manager. The Finance Director/Treasurer serves as both the statutory financial officer and strategic financial advisor for Plainfield Township, maintaining all required financial records and reporting under the Second Class Township Code while providing forward-thinking financial planning, analysis, and recommendations to support sound decision‑making by the Township Manager and Board of Supervisors.
Candidates should possess general knowledge of generally accepted financial and accounting principles, familiarity with Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code requirements and the statutory duties of Treasurer, and knowledge of DCED reporting requirements and fund accounting. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, along with experience in financial software systems, QuickBooks experience preferred. Strong regulatory compliance, attention to detail, strategic financial thinking, and analytical and problem‑solving skills are required, along with the ability to communicate clearly with elected officials, staff, and the public and to work collaboratively with the Township Manager and administrative team.
