Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPFO/CPA preferred.
• Five years of professional accounting in governmental or non-profit operations, including at least two years in supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Caselle or equivalent, and ability to learn other software.
• Demonstrated experience supervising employees and managing departmental operations.

Job description

Warwick Township is seeking an experienced and highly dependable full-time, exempt Director of Finance to oversee the Township’s financial operations and serve as a key member of the Township’s management team. The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall administration, management, and maintenance of the Township’s financial records, accounts, budgets, and financial transactions. This position supervises the Finance Department and works closely with the Township Manager, department heads, auditors, actuaries, professional consultants, vendors, and State and County agencies.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of municipal finance, budgeting, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, public bidding and governmental regulations, along with excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and supervisory skills. The position requires a high level of confidentiality, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial information and provide recommendations.

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPFO or CPA Certification preferred.
• Five (5) years of professional accounting experience involving fiscal or budgetary activities in a governmental operation or non-profit operation, including at least two (2) years in supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Caselle or equivalent, and ability to learn other software as required.
• Demonstrated experience supervising employees and managing departmental operations.
• Considerable knowledge of public finance and fiscal planning, municipal government operations, payroll and accounts payable functions, budgetary and accounting and reporting systems, GAAFR, GAAP, and GASB standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to research, write and edit statistical, financial and factual information.

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$135,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
