Rochester City School District is seeking a Manager of Accounting to plan, direct the preparation and reporting of financial statements and payroll disbursements. You will supervise professional and clerical staff under the Chief School Business Executive, ensuring accurate reports for management and the board.

Responsibilities include ACFR preparation, audits, year-end close, and policy development across district finance functions, with oversight of Oracle modules and journal entries.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of general and government accounting.
• Thorough knowledge of payroll accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to develop policies and procedures and to supervise staff.
• Knowledge of federal and state grant regulations and audit procedures.

Responsabilités

• Supervise a staff of accountants (general and capital accounting).
• Prepare the Annual Consolidated Financial Report (ACFR).
• Manage internal and external financial audits.
• Serve as primary contact for external annual audits and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance for year-end close planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with FASB/GAAP/GASB standards.
• Oversee Oracle modules: PPM-Capital, A/R, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, GL.
• Approve Journal Entries for senior accountant review and approval.
• Coordinate bond issuance and related financial statements.
