Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc. is seeking a Finance Director with strong, hands-on Controller experience to lead accounting and financial management for a nonprofit serving older adults in the Capital Region.

Working with the Executive Director, you will provide clear financial reporting, guide budgeting and financial decisions, oversee audits, grants, and compliance, and strengthen internal controls across the organization.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of progressively responsible accounting/financial-management experience including budgeting, statements, month-end close, and audits.
• Hands-on controller-level skills in GL management, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grants, restricted funds, and cost allocation.
• Experience supervising staff and strong spreadsheet and accounting-system skills.
• Clear communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities.

Aufgaben

• Lead financial management and advise the Executive Director, department leaders, Finance Committee, and Board on financial performance and decisions.
• Manage and actively participate in accounting, monthly and year-end closing, reconciliations, and timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Lead annual operating, program, property, and capital budgeting; monitor results and explain variances.
• Maintain cash-flow projections and forecasts, anticipating funding needs and reimbursement timing.
• Oversee accounting for senior housing properties and related entities, including rental revenue, reserves, capital spending, and allocations.
• Manage financial reporting, reimbursement requests, and compliance for grants, contracts, and restricted contributions.
• Oversee payroll accounting, accounts payable and receivable, banking, and internal controls; supervise and support finance staff.
• Coordinate annual audits and applicable tax and regulatory filings with external professionals.
• Improve financial systems and processes, and make financial information understandable and useful to colleagues.
