Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a finance professional to lead budgeting and financial operations for the Jacobs School of Music. You will work with chairs and directors to develop budgets, monitor spending, and ensure compliance with IU and IUF policies.

The role requires 5 years of relevant experience and a degree in finance or business; MBA and CFA preferred. You will manage multiple accounts, generate reports, and support accreditation and strategic planning processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field required.
• MBA preferred; CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide budgeting and operational leadership of financial activities for the Jacobs School of Music.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with IU Foundation and IU policies including account management, transaction processing, financial reporting and analysis.
• Develop realistic budgets for departments and programs with Chairs and Directors.
• Monitors expenditures and encumbrances against budgets; follow up on funding options.
• Lead the annual budget preparation process and align requests with directives and guidelines.
• File a balanced budget compliant with university guidelines.
• Lead IUF account management and ensure funds are utilized per donor intent.
• Prepare reporting and information for accreditation and university requests.
• Attend meetings and pursue professional development in academic financial operations.
