Job summary

Gateway Community Action Partnership in Bridgeton, NJ seeks a Director of Finance to lead the Finance Department in daily fiscal operations and staff supervision. This role supports budgeting, reporting, and policy implementation in collaboration with the CFO and Controller.

You will ensure timely completion of GAAP-compliant financial statements, grant reports, and forecasts, while coordinating with program staff and ensuring financial controls align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Five years of progressive accounting/fiscal experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and Uniform Guidance; nonprofit or government-funded environment experience preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting information systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day operations of Finance Department staff; assigns work and monitors deadlines.
• Provides ongoing training and professional development to accounting staff.
• Reviews grant reports, budgets, and closeouts for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepares grant reports and budgets in accordance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance.
• Monitors spending against approved budgets and flags variances for corrective action.
• Coordinates annual budget process and forecasts; analyzes variances and communicates results.
• Supports month-end and year-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Develops internal reports and refines reporting tools for efficiency.
• Coordinates tracking of non-federal share/match across programs.
• Serves as escalation point for day-to-day fiscal operations questions.
