Job summary

LMG Staffing Solutions is conducting a confidential search for a Director of Finance for a government contracting client based in Fredericksburg, VA. This hands-on leadership role requires deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint, GAAP, FAR, and DCAA compliance to drive strategic financial planning, reporting, and controls.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong leadership, and a track record with government contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA/CFA/CGFM/CMA designation preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Expert-level experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.
• Extensive experience supporting government contractors.
• Strong knowledge of DCAA compliance, FAR regulations, and cost-plus accounting.
• Manufacturing or product distribution finance experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial management, accounting, compliance, and reporting.
• Oversee Deltek Costpoint configuration and project accounting.
• Manage payroll timesheets, labor distribution, and PTO accruals.
• Handle government contract invoicing via WAWF, IPP, GSA, etc.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor records.
• Manage accounts receivable, receipts, and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monthly GL close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
• Support inventory accounting and manufacturing/ distribution finance.
• Collaborate with Operations, PM, HR, and leadership on contract performance.
• Drive finance process improvements and internal controls; prep for DCAA audits.
• Ensure GAAP, FAR, DCAA compliance.
