ABOUT THE POSITION
TIRRC is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual with a keen eye for compliance and demonstrated skills needed to manage payroll processing and benefits administration, maintain financial recordkeeping, and support the organization’s finance and development teams in maintaining the overall health of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Finance Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping of TIRRC and TIRRC’s affiliated 501(c)4, TIRRC Votes;
- Manage the organization’s financial health including but not limited to:
- Manage the organizational budget ( ~$5M) and team budgets;
- Regularly monitor financial position;
- Monitor cash flow;
- Manage finance staff and contractors;
- Onboard new staff on finance systems for the organization;
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and analyses for management and board;
- Support the Senior Director of Operations and Finance and external accounting firm in managing the financial health and compliance of the organization;
- Serve as the primary liaison between TIRRC and TIRRC Votes’ staff and the external accounting firm, coordinating monthly close, audits, and ad hoc requests;
Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and donor restrictions, including tracking spending against budgets, monitoring reporting deadlines, and reviewing expense/payroll allocations for proper grant coding;
- Manage grant budgets and allocations across restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring expenses are properly classified and allowable under funder guidelines;
- Oversee compliance with government grant requirements, including adherence to applicable federal/state regulations (e.g., 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance), supporting documentation for drawdowns, and timely submission of financial and programmatic reports;
- Prepare and file required compliance paperwork, such as state charitable solicitation registrations and corporate annual reports;
- Design, implement, and enforce internal controls and financial policies to safeguard organizational assets and ensure accurate, reliable financial reporting;
- Manage organizational insurance policies (e.g., commercial liability, D&O), including renewals, coverage adequacy reviews, and claims coordination;
- Oversee financial compliance of the organization, including employment law, IRS regulations, and lobbying law requirements applicable to 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations;
Board Management
- Manage financial materials and reporting for the Boards of Directors for TIRRC and TIRRC’s affiliated 501(c)4, TIRRC Votes including preparing and distributing financial statements and budget-to-actual reports ahead of meetings;
- P repare internal financial reports for management and board;
- Interface with the Board Finance Committees, preparing materials, attending meetings, and following up on action items;
- Coordinate logistics related to Board governance and finance matters, such as maintaining financial policy documentation, and supporting board orientation on financial matters.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Belief in TIRRC’s mission and experience with social justice;
- Minimum 5 years experience in non-profit financial management and accounting;
- Demonstrated experience in tracking government grant compliance, managing an audit process from start to finish, ensuring legal compliance, setting and monitoring organizational budgets;
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems;
- Excellent skills in communication with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team;
- Flexible and a self-starter, ability to juggle multiple priorities while also being highly detail-oriented;
- Fluency in English and fluency or working proficiency in another language spoken by TIRRC’s constituencies preferred;
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends;
- Must have reliable transportation.
Additional Information
SALARY AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:
Salary Range: $78,000-88,000 depending on experience with relocation support available.
Benefits: Full-time TIRRC employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of the medical employee premium covered by TIRRC, participate in a 401K retirement plan with an employer match, and receive 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Program. In addition, TIRRC provides paid leave including up to 15 vacation days, 13 paid holidays, and 3 weeks paid sick leave in an employee’s first year and 6 weeks of paid parental leave.
