Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Consultant in Financial Data Governance to drive data integrity across the Finance data environment. You will lead governance of reference data, rules and allocations, while guiding cross-functional teams to implement data-driven controls.

The role combines accounting knowledge with modern data governance practices, offering exposure to strategic decisions and regulatory reporting. Hybrid in-office/remote schedule applies within the Columbus area.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressive experience in planning, designing and implementing enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives.
• Extensive experience in functional, process, information, and data modeling, data management and warehousing and applications integration.
• In-depth experience with process re-design methods and tools.
• Ability to understand and document complex data flows; data research and analysis with large volumes of data (SQL, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Consult with Finance partners to analyze, design, implement, and operationalize solutions with an emphasis on ensuring the integrity of Nationwide's financial data.
• Develops, plans and coordinates complex financial projects for business units and the Office of Finance; manages scope, budget and timelines.
• Leads impact analysis and manages financial data elements owned by Finance Data Governance (FDG).
• Ensures changes to Finance data flows follow the established approval framework and standards.
• Provides operational support for Finance back office processes, systems and reports; maintains financial controls.
• Performs complex data analysis and scoring related to financial activity and environmental statistics; reports metrics.
• Partners with Nationwide Technology to document planning solutions and roadmaps; advises executive leadership.
• Communicates with diverse audiences and conducts training for partners and staff.
