Job summary

The Town of Front Royal is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to provide professional customer service for the Finance Department, handling payments, accounts, and revenue reconciliation. The role supports establishing utility accounts and payment collections in accordance with municipal policies.

Candidates should have at least one year of financial customer service experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience: One (1) year of experience in financial customer service.
• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Other: Valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of customer service methods and client interaction.
• Familiarity with office equipment and basic bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Routine collection of utility payments, taxes, licenses, decals, permits, and other revenues; ensure payments are posted timely and accurately.
• Open/close utility, business license, and meals/lodging accounts; inform customers of services and guidelines.
• Receive customer inquiries via phone, in person, or correspondence.
• Process work orders, name/address changes, and update records.
• Invoicing for meals, lodging, and business licenses.
• Generate end-of-day balancing reports; reconcile daily revenue collections.
