Job summary

Vaco is partnering with a growing organization in the Nashville area to identify an experienced Financial Controller/Director of Finance to own the accounting function and work closely with the CFO. The role entails driving GAAP reporting, improving controls, and scaling the finance team during a period of rapid growth.

You will lead the full accounting cycle, manage intercompany activity, and collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives in a hands-on, autonomous environment

Qualifications

• Experience in a Controller/Assistant Controller leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and US GAAP.
• Experience independently managing the full accounting cycle and financial reporting.
• Experience in a complex multi-entity environment preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred; public accounting background is a plus.
• Music industry experience is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, GL, reconciliations, and financial statement prep.
• Oversee GAAP accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls and reporting.
• Manage complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition and intercompany activity.
• Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other partners.
• Help develop and scale the accounting function to support growth.
