Job summary

Northeast Kingdom Health Services (NKHS) seeks a Controller to lead the financial operations, reporting to the CFO, and oversee the Business Office including accounting, cash receipts, and accounts payable.

The Controller will ensure GAAP-compliant monthly close, prepare financial statements for board and state partners, and supervise accounting staff, providing leadership and strategic financial guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• CPA or CMA designation a plus.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in accounting software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Management of general ledger accounting system.
• Review, prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger monthly.
• Complete monthly financial reporting to finance committee, the Board and State Partners.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and payroll processes.
• Support annual audit preparation and tax form preparation (1099).
