Job summary

Northeast Kingdom Health Services (NKHS) in Vermont seeks an experienced Controller to lead the Agency’s financial operations, reporting to the CFO, and supervise the business office staff. You will oversee accounting, AP, and payroll, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting and timely close processes.

The role requires at least 6+ years of related experience, a degree in accounting or business, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
• 6+ years of related accounting experience.
• CPA or CMA designation a plus.
• Strong management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee general ledger and journal entries with accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements for audit and reporting.
• Supervise accounting and payroll staff and mentor the team.
• Assist with annual audit, 1099s, and IRS compliance.
• Manage accounts payable, revenue, and cash posting.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting and controls.
