Qualifications

• 7–10 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to energy trading, financial services, or commodities.
• Prior experience at a Big 4 accounting firm or fund accounting environment strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounting for trading activities including settlements, P&L reporting, and trade-related accounting entries.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
• Work with trading and risk teams to ensure accurate trade capture, settlements, and reporting.
• Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiency as the firm scales.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff.
