Job summary

An energy trading firm in Houston is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage trading-related reconciliations and financial audits. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of accounting experience, particularly in a fast-paced trading environment, and holds a CPA. You'll support credit monitoring and partner with risk teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting. Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• 3+ years in a BIG 4 accounting firm required.
• Strong understanding of energy trading or hedge funds preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own trading-related month-end close, accruals, and P&L reconciliations.
• Support credit monitoring, collateral tracking, and liquidity forecasting.
• Partner with trading and risk to ensure position and revenue accuracy.

Job description

• Own trading-related month-end close, accruals, and P&L reconciliations
• Support credit monitoring, collateral tracking, and liquidity forecasting
• Partner with trading and risk to ensure position and revenue accuracy
• Assist with audits and regulatory compliance
• Record and reconcile trading activity (FTRs, virtuals, bilateral power)
• Review ISO/RTO settlement statements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• 3+ years in an BIG 4 accounting experience (required)
• Strong understanding of energy trading or hedge fund (preferred)
• Experience in fast-paced, performance-driven environments
• CPA preferred
