Job summary

Sokin is hiring a Financial Controller in New York to lead regional finance operations across the Americas. You will supervise local staff, coordinate accounting, reporting, and controls, and work with shared services to scale processes in a fast-growing global business.

The role requires 3+ years PQE (CPA/ACA/ACCA) with strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills, plus right to work in the United States. Experience with NetSuite and multi-GAAP reporting is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE (CPA/ACA/ACCA).
• Background in business services, audit, or corporate accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, statutory reporting, and control frameworks.
• Experience with consolidated accounts and management reporting.
• Exposure to ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong systems orientation.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional finance operations across the Americas.
• Review journal entries with bookkeeping and shared services teams.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, accruals, intercompany balances, and fixed assets.
• Support the month-end and year-end close and help shorten the close cycle.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and US GAAP.
• Support regulatory reporting and tax provisions across the Americas.
• Collaborate with auditors and continually improve financial controls.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting; build models for growth.
