Job summary

Yahoo Finance is seeking an Associate Content Engagement Editor to shape real-time presentation, packaging and performance of our journalism across desktop, mobile web and app surfaces. This role will own real-time programming decisions, optimize how stories show up across platforms, and craft alerts and headlines that help audiences quickly understand why a story matters to their money.

The right candidate has 2–3 years editing in digital media with strong editorial judgment, experience in SEO

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of editing at a media organization with digital newsroom experience.
• Strong editorial judgment and real-time framing in a fast-moving news environment.
• Experience with headline writing, content curation, copy editing and SEO.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools for prompt engineering and refinement.
• Ability to validate AI outputs for brand voice and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Program Yahoo Finance desktop, mobile web, and app experiences with breaking news and markets coverage.
• Optimize story placement, headlines, thumbnails, framing, and recirculation for engagement.
• Draft, iterate, and optimize AI-generated headlines and mobile alerts.
• Write, edit, and send timely mobile alerts with clear financial language.
• Collaborate with editors, reporters, video, social, product, and analytics teams.
• Work with video teams to surface compelling content across platforms.
• Embrace a test-and-learn culture and use performance data to inform decisions.
