Job summary

Yahoo Finance is seeking a Director of Editorial Programming to lead content programming across Yahoo Finance surfaces, including homepage, mobile, app, and push notifications. This senior leader translates editorial judgment into platform strategy, builds teams, and partners with product and content stakeholders.

You’ll set vision, standards, and drive real-time decisions and coverage across time zones. You will own KPIs, collaborate with product/engineering on CMS tools, and guide distribution

Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital news, journalism, or editorial leadership.
• 7+ years of direct people management.
• Proven news judgment in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Strong understanding of digital programming fundamentals (homepage editing, headlines, SEO, push strategy).
• Experience working with CMS tools and editorial workflows with product/engineering partners.
• Comfort with analytics tools and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial programming strategy across Yahoo Finance surfaces and push notifications.
• Lead the push notification function, including strategy, targeting, cadence, and protocols.
• Mentor and develop an editorial team across time zones.
• Staffing and scheduling to ensure coverage during major news cycles.
• Own programming KPIs and use analytics to drive real-time decisions.
• Partner with product and engineering to shape roadmap for tools and capabilities.
• Create distribution plans for major news moments and priorities.
• Collaborate across editorial, video, social, SEO, product, engineering, and analytics.
