Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital news or editorial leadership roles.
• 7+ years of direct people management.
• Proven news judgment in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments across multiple digital surfaces.
• Strong understanding of homepage editing, headline/image selection, SEO, and push notification strategy.
• Experience working with product/engineering on CMS tools and editorial workflows.
• Comfort with analytics tools (Chartbeat, Google Analytics) to inform decisions.
• Willingness to support a 24/7 news operation, including odd hours.
• Ability to translate data into strategic decisions, experimentation plans, and performance accountability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial programming strategy across Yahoo Finance surfaces, setting vision and standards.
• Lead push notification strategy with audience targeting and performance expectations.
• Mentor and develop an editorial team across time zones.
• Ensure strong staffing across hours, platforms, and major news cycles.
• Make analytics the backbone of operations using dashboards and signals to drive decisions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to shape roadmaps for tools and automation.
• Create advance distribution plans for major news moments and priorities.
• Build partnerships across editorial, video, social, SEO, product, and analytics.
