Job summary

Merck is seeking a US Finance Compliance Lead to oversee a two-person Associate Director team and deliver best-in-class compliance support for the US Market Finance function. This role reports to the US Finance Lead with dotted-line to the Human Health US Compliance Lead.

You will drive policies, audits, training, and remediation activities, ensuring SOX compliance and financial integrity across finance processes and systems. A strong leadership and collaboration capability is essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required.
• 10 years of business experience, preferably pharmaceutical/healthcare-related.
• MBA is a plus and strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all aspects of the US Market Finance Compliance Plan are met without exception.
• Facilitate the annual SOX audit of US Finance by internal and external auditors.
• Coordinate annual reviews and training on internal controls and policies.
• Prepare quarterly State of Compliance reports and lead reviews with senior leaders.
• Manage quarterly control processes to identify and evaluate significant matters.
• Provide compliance perspective on commercial initiatives across cross-functional teams.
• Advise on new projects/systems to ensure financial integrity and SOX compliance.
• Identify, investigate, and implement preventative remediation actions.
• Communicate the importance of compliance throughout the organization.
