Phoenix Tailings, a growing clean mining and metals startup, seeks a Finance Chief of Staff to align finance with company strategy, connect financial planning, capital allocation, and executive decisions, and manage the finance operating cadence. This role partners with the senior finance leader to elevate decision quality and accountability across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of progressive experience in strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or CFO organization.
• Strong command of financial planning, cash and capital allocation, financial statements, and scenario analysis.
• Experience advising senior executives and preparing materials for boards or investors.
• Record of leading complex work across functions and converting decisions into execution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complicated issues without losing substance.
• High discretion, sound judgment, and confidence operating in sensitive situations.
• Hands on leadership style with strategic and detailed work across functions.
• Experience in advanced manufacturing, industrial technology, critical materials, or climate related industries is helpful.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a trusted partner to the senior finance leader on priorities, decisions, and follow through.
• Own the finance leadership cadence, including planning, decision forums, key deliverables, and accountability.
• Lead selected strategic finance work, including long range planning, capital allocation, scenario analysis, and financing preparation.
• Coordinate board and investor materials with clear ownership, consistent data, and an executive point of view.
• Drive complex projects that cross finance, manufacturing, commercial, supply chain, and the executive team.
• Identify gaps in finance processes, information, or ownership and work with leaders to resolve them.
• Support organization design, hiring priorities, and team development within finance.
• Represent the finance leader in selected meetings and workstreams with appropriate judgment and authority.
• Take direct ownership of urgent or sensitive work that does not fit cleanly within an existing finance team.
