Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Senior Corporate Development Associate to lead evaluation and execution of strategic transactions, partnerships, and investments. You will develop a point of view on where Phoenix Tailings should act, run critical workstreams, and guide opportunities from thesis through closing.

The ideal candidate combines strong transaction judgment with curiosity about technology, markets, and operations, coordinating senior stakeholders and driving momentum through complex deals.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or strategic finance.
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and transaction analysis skills.
• Experience leading material diligence or execution workstreams with senior stakeholders.
• Strong investment judgment and the ability to form a clear recommendation from imperfect information.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience in critical materials, mining, industrial technology, or climate related industries is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, valuation, scenario analysis, and transaction recommendations.
• Run diligence across finance, legal, technical, commercial, and operating workstreams.
• Manage external advisers and maintain clear accountability for process, timing, and open issues.
• Prepare and present recommendations to executives and the board.
• Support negotiation strategy and lead key elements of documentation and closing.
• Build relationships with potential partners, targets, investors, and market participants.
• Define early integration or partnership operating plans so transaction logic carries into execution.
• Coach junior team members and improve the quality of transaction analysis and process management.

• Experience leading material diligence or execution workstreams with senior stakeholders.
• Strong investment judgment and the ability to form a clear recommendation from imperfect information.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience in critical materials, mining, industrial technology, advanced manufacturing, or climate related industries is helpful.

What We Offer

This base salary range reflects our best estimate for this role. The final package may vary based on experience and qualifications and includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus and equity.

Base Salary Range: $140,000 to $180,000
