Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Fiscal Coordinator to develop and maintain financial reporting systems for the Youth Services Center. You will prepare monthly statements, budgets, and disbursement reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.

The role requires managing capital and operating budgets, providing budgetary analysis, and supervising staff as needed. A strong background in accounting or public finance is essential, with attention to confidentiality and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Five (5) years of related work experience in project management, program analysis, budgeting, and/or finance.
• Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile bank accounts for funded programs and resident accounts.
• Prepare the Youth Services Center budget and budget reports as required.
• Review and submit disbursements, inventory and supply ledgers, and purchase requisitions to the Department Director.
• Analyze accounting procedures and revise to increase operational efficiency.
• Exercise budget control by reviewing and approving obligations and expenditures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Systems Engineering, or related field
