Job summary

SprintRay is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Los Angeles team, blending traditional accounting with finance automation and AI initiatives. This role balances hands-on GAAP accounting with building automated workflows to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability across the finance function.

You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, AP, AR, Cost Accounting, and IT to identify manual processes, implement AI-powered solutions, and support month-end close while advancing automation projects that

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; 3+ years of general accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plus.
• Strong Excel skills; ERP or financial reporting systems experience; Odoo a plus.
• Experience with AI & automation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, ensuring all reconciling items are identified, documented, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Assist in executing the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries (accruals, prepaid amortization, deferrals, and reclassifications).
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation; respond to auditor inquiries.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with GAAP and company policies; research and apply guidance for new transactions.
• Maintain internal control procedures over financial reporting and identify process improvements.
• Use ERP to record journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and extract reports; test system updates.
• Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI-powered tools to streamline finance processes.
• Partner with Finance and IT to design and test automation workflows for recurring activities.
• Participate in system implementations and other finance projects.
