Reed Smith LLP’s Boston office seeks a mid-level to senior associate for the Finance group, focusing on Venture Debt and Growth Financing. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years representing banks and private credit funds on the lender side in commercial finance transactions, including drafting loan agreements and related collateral documents.

Strong preference for familiarity with tech, life sciences, fintech, frontier tech and digital assets borrowers and cross-border experience.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience representing banks, private credit funds, and other financial institutions on the lender side in commercial finance transactions.
Experience drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security and collateral documentation, intercreditor agreements, and closing documents.
Familiarity with borrowers in technology, life sciences, fintech, frontier tech and digital assets sectors is strongly preferred.
Cross-border transaction experience is a plus.
Active member of the Massachusetts bar is required.
