Payactiv, a leading FinTech in Milpitas, CA, seeks a Finance and Strategy Manager to lead a high-impact finance function supporting a multi-million-dollar partnership. Based in Milpitas, you will build and scale an international team, drive collections improvements, and partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver strategic initiatives.

The role demands strong analytical skills, client engagement, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field is required.
• An advanced degree (MBA, Engineering, Data Science) is preferred.
• 5+ years in Finance, Strategy, Operations or Analytics with 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with customers, partners and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Experience with large datasets and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale an international finance operations team of 5+ professionals.
• Partner with Business, FP&A, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to advance initiatives.
• Explain product to clients and recoup outstanding amounts.
• Design, implement, and improve processes and internal controls to maximize revenue and minimize uncollected balances.
• Drive automation and tooling to handle volume and growth.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to integrate new tools into Payactiv platform.

Payactiv is seeking an experienced Finance and Strategy Manager to lead and scale the Finance & Strategy function for a multi-million-dollar business partnership. This role requires a strong people leader with experience managing cross-functional, international teams, a sharp analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills including the ability to engage directly with clients. The ideal candidate will drive both short- and long-term initiatives to improve collections and lower loss rates, lead process improvements, and operate effectively in a high-visibility environment. This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager and is based in our Milpitas, CA office.

What you will do…

Team Leadership & Strategic Collaboration

• Lead, develop, and scale an international finance operations team of 5+ professionals focused on improving collections performance and reducing loss rates for Payactiv disbursements
• Partner closely with cross-functional leaders across Business, FP&A, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to support and advance high-impact business initiatives

Communication & Client Engagement

• Communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, including executives, cross-functional partners, and external clients
• Engage directly with clients to explain our product, address any concerns, and recoup any outstanding amounts

Internal Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency

• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes and internal controls to manage an ecosystem of tens of thousands of individual accounts, maximizing revenue while minimizing uncollected balances
• Drive operational efficiency through automation and technology, enabling the team to effectively manage volume, complexity, and growth
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to build, enhance, and integrate new tools and systems within Payactiv’s broader platform and ecosystem

Highly Analytical & Data-Driven Approach

• Leverage large and complex data sets to analyze business trends, loss drivers, and performance metrics, generating actionable insights that improve both top-line and bottom-line results
• Translate analytical insights into new or enhanced tools, processes, and operating strategies that deliver measurable business impact

What you need…

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science or a related field
• An advanced degree (MBA, Engineering, Data Science) is preferred
• 5+ years of progressive Finance, Strategy, Operations or Analytics experience, with 3+ years as a team manager
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with customers, partners and various stakeholders
• Ability to manage, prioritize, and deliver multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
• Power user in Excel and big data tools (e.g., Python Pandas, SQL, etc)
• Expertise in analyzing large datasets and generating actionable insights

Salary Range ; $140K to 160K plus Bonus and Benefits
