AI – Software Development seeks a Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and processes across a multi-entity organization. This hands-on role builds scalable finance systems and drives efficiency with automation and AI.

The ideal candidate has a mix of Big 4 and startup private company experience, CPA qualification, and strong US GAAP expertise. Remote with approximately 20% international travel (ET) is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license is required.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience in mix of public and private accounting in tech/startup sectors.
• Experience in AI, SaaS, or technology industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activities across multiple entities with timely reporting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close, reconciliations, and FS prep.
• Support consolidated reporting and intercompany accounting.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers.
• Oversee cash management, payroll, vendor payments, and treasury support.
• Assist with corporate accounting, entity management, and reporting.
• Support tax planning and analysis with external advisors.
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses for stakeholders.
• Improve finance systems, controls, and processes for scale.

Our client, a growing and well-funded AI startup, is looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and financial processes across a growing multi-entity organization. This role offers significant exposure to both day-to-day accounting responsibilities and broader finance initiatives, making it an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and supporting a dynamic business environment.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. This individual will work closely with leadership, external advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient operations, and scalable finance processes.

Must have a mix of public accounting (Big 4 ideal) and startup private company experience. Looking for industry experience in AI, technology, SaaS. CPA or equivalent required.

• Oversee accounting activities across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
• Support consolidated reporting and oversee intercompany accounting activities
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and other regulatory obligations

• Manage operational finance activities, including cash management, payroll oversight, vendor payments, and treasury support
• Assist with corporate accounting, entity management, and organizational reporting requirements
• Support tax planning, compliance, and analysis in partnership with external advisors
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and materials for stakeholders
• Evaluate and improve finance systems, controls, and processes to increase efficiency and scalability
• Leverage technology, automation, and process enhancements to improve financial operations and reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA required
• Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Mix of public and private accounting experience
• Start-up company experience in technology, SaaS, or AI industries
• Proven track record of building automations and using AI for efficiency and accuracy
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting and preparing financial statements
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Experience partnering with auditors, tax advisors, and external service providers
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to various stakeholders
