Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry level Financial Analyst to support a project in accounting and finance related functions. The role focuses on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance. Tasks cover labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.

This position contributes to month-end close and financial reporting for management. Projects range from $1 million to $4 billion; relocation/travel is required as work spans nationwide.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of financial/data analysis experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and related Excel functions preferred.
• Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and drive for continuous improvement.
• Must be able to access all parts of a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs.
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and shows willingness to learn.
• Understands payroll and HR workflow and the systems used for hiring, transferring, and paying employees.
• Comprehends purchasing, invoices, and internal controls in purchasing workflow.
• Demonstrates understanding of accounts payable workflow and troubleshooting vendor issues.
• Understands intercompany and client billing workflows and the impact on cash management.
• Ensures cost and cost adjustments meet company standards and accounting rules.
• Reviews costs, quantity claiming, budget structure and exception reports for accuracy.
• Identifies and reviews forecast and budget issues with cost reports.
