Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Finance Analyst Intern in the Eastern District to support project accounting and finance tasks on projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion. You will participate in cost control, payroll, A/P/A/R, and month-end close.

This internship offers exposure to large-scale construction programs across the US and Canada, mentorship, and a collaborative environment focused on development and real-world finance experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Willing to relocate anywhere in the country.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.
• Experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP in Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organized and interpersonal.
• Detail-oriented with ability to spot discrepancies.
• Eager to learn and continuously improve.
• Able to access all parts of a construction site.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs.
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and learn the work.
• Understands payroll and HR workflow and uses systems to hire, transfer, pay.
• Understands purchasing workflow and internal controls.
• Supports accounts payable/receivable processes.
• Supports intercompany and client billing processes, ensuring timely documentation.
• Ensures cost and cost adjustments meet reporting standards.
• Reviews forecast, budget, and cost reports for proper recognition.
• Provides excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Maintains organized work environment and time management.
• Follows Corporate Compliance and EE0 and labor laws at project level.
