Job summary

City of Milton is seeking a Finance Analyst to manage accounts payable, vendor relations, and tax compliance. You will process invoices, issue payments, maintain vendor records, and prepare 1099s in a government setting.

This role supports procurement activities and month-end close tasks with a focus on accuracy and internal controls. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field and a minimum of three years in financial operations, preferably in public sector

Qualifications

• Experience with accounts payable processing and vendor interactions.
• Knowledge of W-9 and 1099 compliance.
• Experience with month-end closing and reconciliations.
• Understanding of internal controls and financial policies.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices, ensure accurate coding and approvals.
• Monitor accounts payable to prevent late payments and errors.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with departments.
• Maintain vendor files and collect W-9 forms for tax compliance.
• Prepare and issue 1099 forms for applicable vendors.
• Support procurement and purchase order processes as needed.
• Assist with month-end close and adjusting entries.
