Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Finance Analyst to partner with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to monitor project financial performance, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. This role blends FP&A, project accounting, and business partnering to provide visibility across operations and leadership.

You will analyze data, build financial models, and drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and financial controls, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in financial analysis, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project cost tracking and financial performance reporting.
  • Analyze utilization, labor costs, open commitments, forecasts, and key project metrics.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities.
  • Assist with pricing, bids, and proposals, including cost estimates and risk review.
  • Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and original project plans.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and financial models for project visibility.
  • Drive process improvements to increase reporting accuracy, efficiency, and controls.
  • Collaborate across departments to support informed business decisions and project success.

Finance Analyst

Our client is seeking a Finance Analyst to partner closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to support project financial performance, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. What You'll Do


  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project cost tracking and financial performance reporting

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

  • Experience in financial analysis, project finance, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance functions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and financial modeling

  • Experience performing variance analysis and developing management reports

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint

  • Experience with Epicor or other ERP systems

  • Exposure to consolidation and financial reporting tools

  • Experience working in project-based, government contracting, engineering, manufacturing, or similar environments

This is a Contract position based out of Yaphank, NY.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.


Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
