Job summary

Amador County Probation Department seeks a seasoned finance and administration supervisor or fiscal officer to oversee the department's budget, cost accounting and grant administration, and supervise clerical and fiscal staff. This role requires strong analytical and supervisory skills and the ability to implement financial controls.

Under direction, you will work with the CAO and department head, prepare budget modifications, monitor revenues, and ensure compliance with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Five years of financial/administrative program work with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License is required.
• Background and credit history checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors the department's annual budget and budget modifications.
• Provides primary financial and administrative support to the department head or unit administrator.
• Performs grant administration duties and ensures program compliance.
• Reviews revenue reports and maintains internal accounting controls.
• Prepares purchasing documents and tracks budgetary expenditures.
