Job summary

The City of McKinney is seeking an Accounting Technician to support the Accounting Manager with finance functions beyond payroll. Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, handling check printing and payroll reporting, and assisting with 1099s and payroll inquiries.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounts payable processing and vendor maintenance.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and reporting workflows.
• Familiarity with procurement card reconciliation and filing.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support to the Financial Services division.
• Processes invoices for accounts payable with correct coding.
• Maintains vendor database including add/merge/activate/deactivate.
• Handles AP filing system and records retention.
• Processes vendor EFT enrollment forms.
• Assists with general ledger inquiries and vendor questions.
• Monitors procurement card transactions and coding.
• Relieves management of routine administrative tasks.
• Reviews department mail and payroll information for entry.
• Processes bi-weekly payroll, prints checks and prepares payroll banking paperwork.
• Prepares payroll-related vendor payments and deductions.
• Assists with payroll inquiries and employment verifications.
