Job summary

Tierney Education is seeking Finance & Accounting Peer Tutors to work with Penn State students in State College. The role focuses on one-on-one and small-group tutoring for FIN 301, ACCTG 211, and upper-division courses to help students grasp concepts and build confidence.

Tutors work flexible contracts, with duties including scheduling, reflections, and hour submissions. Pay starts at $30 per hour and includes paid 90-minute training and ongoing support from Tierney Education.

Qualifications

• Earned an A or A- in the course(s) you wish to tutor.
• At least 5 hours of availability per week.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and timely communication with students and Tierney Education.
• Ability to complete administrative tasks on time.

Responsibilities

• Meeting one-on-one or in small groups with students
• Communicating directly with students to schedule sessions
• Submitting brief session reflections within 24 hours
• Submitting monthly tutoring hours
• Communicating with the Tierney Education team about student progress
