Job summary

Morris-Jenkins, a leading HVAC service provider in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting. The role leads accounting operations, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and controls, partnering with executives to drive profitability and scalable processes.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of finance leadership, CPA or MBA, and a track record with multi-location or PE-backed organizations. Strong Excel and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required.
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
• Experience leading finance for multi-location service, distribution, manufacturing, or PE-backed organizations.
• Strong accounting operations and FP&A background.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with executive leadership to influence strategy.
• Deep GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Experience leading process improvements.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial advisor to the Location President and senior leadership team.
• Provide data-driven recommendations supporting strategic planning, growth initiatives, capital investments, and operational decisions.
• Evaluate risks, opportunities, and performance trends to achieve objectives.
• Develop understanding of the business model, customers, market dynamics, and key drivers.
• Promote financial accountability and disciplined decision-making.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance management.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for investments.
• Monitor revenue, gross margin, Opex, EBITDA, cash flow, and ROI, with variance analysis.
• Create executive dashboards, management reporting, and KPI scorecards.
• Support business reviews with clear analyses for timely decisions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Service, Installation, Marketing, and HR to improve performance.
• Align metrics with financial outcomes and provide visibility on economic impact.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue and efficiency.
• Develop reporting and scorecards to support organizational objectives.
