Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in Massachusetts is seeking a Financial & Accounting Outsourcing Intern to support client projects and internal team initiatives. You will perform qualitative and quantitative analyses, create workflows, and assist with financial reconciliations and process documentation.

The role emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and exposure to cloud computing and accounting systems, with an opportunity to pursue CPA alongside hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting or finance is required or preferred.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or above preferred.
• CPA pursuit is preferred; strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a member of the team by proactively looking for opportunities to assist team members and by supporting the overall goals of the team.
• Conduct research and perform qualitative analysis on findings to present to the team and/or client.
• Conduct quantitative analysis using a variety of tools including MS Excel, etc
• Work with team members and clients at all levels, support client project teams, and manage expectations of clients and management
• Get trained on a variety of electronic tools
• Assist with client assessment of best practices in cloud computing, technology, accounting systems, and department workflow
• Create accounting work flow and process flowcharts and maps for Current Workflow and the New Processes Recommended
• Create accounting policies & procedures documentation for clients' businesses
• Help with documentation of Client Assessments with before and after recommendations presentations
• Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation and process documentations, assess need for BILL implementation
• Balance sheet reconciliation, write up processes for how this is currently done, and how can be done better
• Work with regulatory compliance, excel modeling and pivot tables
