Job summary

Cherry Bekaert invites motivated students to join our Financial & Accounting Outsourcing internship in Louisville, KY. You will contribute to the team, perform qualitative and quantitative analyses using Excel, and support client projects across levels of engagement.

You will help draft workflows, policies, and documentation, assist with AR/AP and reconciliations, and gain exposure to regulatory compliance and pivot table modeling.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or above preferred.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Professional communication and leadership.
• Self-starters with strong organization and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the team by proactively assisting teammates and supporting overall goals.
• Conduct research and qualitative analysis to present to the team or client.
• Perform quantitative analysis using MS Excel and other tools.
• Work with team members and clients at all levels and manage expectations.
• Get trained on a variety of electronic tools.
• Assist with client assessments of best practices in cloud computing, technology, accounting systems, and department workflow.
• Create accounting workflow and process maps for current workflow and new processes.
• Create accounting policies & procedures documentation for clients' businesses.
• Help with documentation of client assessments with before and after recommendations.
• Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation and process documentation.
• Balance sheet reconciliation, write up processes for current and improved methods.
• Work with regulatory compliance, Excel modeling and pivot tables.
