Job summary

Cherry Bekaert’s Financial & Accounting Outsourcing Internship offers hands-on experience in consulting and accounting support. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, assist with client project teams, and learn to document workflows, policies, and reconciliation processes.

You will gain exposure to cloud computing assessments, workflow mapping, and regulatory considerations while collaborating with experienced professionals across client engagements.

Qualifications

• Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA is preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Confidence and professionalism in representation
• Strong leadership with excellent verbal and written communication
• Self-starters with organization and teamwork capabilities

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a member of the team by proactively looking for opportunities to assist team members and by supporting the overall goals of the team
• Conduct research and perform qualitative analysis on findings to present to the team and/or client
• Conduct quantitative analysis using a variety of tools including MS Excel, etc
• Work with team members and clients at all levels, support client project teams, and manage expectations of clients and management
• Get trained on a variety of electronic tools
• Assist with client assessment of best practices in cloud computing, technology, accounting systems, and department workflow
• Create accounting work flow and process flowcharts and maps for Current Workflow and the New Processes Recommended
• Create accounting policies & procedures documentation for clients’ businesses
• Help with documentation of Client Assessments with before and after recommendations presentations
• Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation and process documentations, assess need for BILL implementation
• Balance sheet reconciliation, write up processes for how this is currently done, and how can be done better
• Work with regulatory compliance, excel modeling and pivot tables
